A few days ago, the research results developed by the Radio Frequency Integrated Circuit Research Laboratory (Room 11) of the Institute of Microelectronics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences-the portable electronic medical follow-up device (Yiyibox), was successfully applied in the Beijing Smart Community Demonstration Project.

Medical information services are an important part of intelligent communities. In order to meet the growing demand for community medical information services, the Institute of Microelectronics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Radio Frequency Integrated Circuit Research Laboratory has developed a portable electronic medical follow-up instrument (Yiyibox).
The Yiyibox is just a magazine-sized box, but it can quickly measure blood pressure, blood sugar, electrocardiogram and other data. At the same time, these health examination data are automatically stored in the health files of the Intelligent Livelihood Service and Urban Management Command Center of Desheng Street, Beijing, and are synchronized with the data center monitoring in the area. If the health indicators reach the alarm level, the command center will light up the red light, and the community service station will get in touch with the patient as soon as possible to provide emergency services and expert services. The first phase of the pilot project has now been successfully completed and is currently being further optimized. It is planned that in 2013, “Yiyibox” will enter every household in the community of Desheng Street to become the residents’ family health assistant.
“Yiyibox” is also an achievement made by Microelectronics in the research of Internet of Things technology. Its popularization and application separates medical data collection and diagnosis, alleviating the shortage of medical resources and providing a new way to realize the sinking of advanced medical services. The solution provides convenience for home medical treatment of senile diseases, chronic diseases, and common diseases. It has been widely praised in the pilot application of the fully intelligent community demonstration project in Desheng Street, Xicheng District, Beijing.
