The Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein (HIAE), located in the wealthiest community in Brazil, is one of the most advanced hospitals in the world, covering an area of 86,000 square meters. The hospital now uses AeroScout’s real-time positioning system, using the hospital’s existing Cisco Unified Wireless Network Wi-Fi system to track the temperature of the refrigeration equipment, as well as asset management and personnel management tracking.

The hospital has a total of 211 cold storage equipment for storing blood and samples, distributed in 5 buildings. AeroScout provides three different label models for temperature tracking: T5A for standard refrigerators; T5B for refrigerators at minus 70 degrees Celsius; T5C for low temperature refrigerators, using liquid nitrogen to reach minus 200 degrees Celsius, storing human tissues, such as bone marrow or stem cell.

The temperature detector is placed in the device and is wired to the label. The tag sends temperature data and its ID number to the Cisco Wi-Fi node in the hospital at 2.4 GHz frequency. The ID code and temperature reading data are then transferred to the Mobile View software of the HIAE back-end system. If the temperature fluctuates beyond the regulations, the system will send an alert to the management in the form of email or text message.

After implementing the temperature tracking system, HIAE also used AeroScout T2 tags to track 700 pieces of equipment, including wheelchairs, infusion mercury, scanners, etc. Employees are also equipped with AeroScout tags that can be hung under their necks. When an emergency occurs, the employee can press the label button to send an alert to the software, and the software then forwards the information to the relevant personnel.

The hospital claims that this system has greatly improved employee productivity and patient satisfaction
