As the designated hospital for the treatment of various infectious diseases in Beijing, Beijing Ditan Hospital has participated in the treatment and rescue of major infectious diseases on many occasions, and has made outstanding contributions to controlling the epidemic of infectious diseases in Beijing.

1. Project overview

One of the tasks of the digital hospital is to realize the transparency of the hospital, that is, to realize the refined management of the hospital through the transparency of data, the transparency of business processes, and the transparency of auxiliary processes. WI-FI real-time positioning technology is one of the important technical means to help hospitals achieve transparency.

The outpatient and emergency medical technology building and ward building of the completed Ditan Hospital have realized a wireless local area network (IEEE 802.11 b/g) covering the entire building. In addition, the hospital has also deployed a large number of EDA and notebook devices to support applications such as mobile office and bedside services.

In order to give full play to the effectiveness of wireless local area networks, the hospital plans to implement real-time tracking and positioning of important personnel, equipment and objects by establishing an Ekahau real-time positioning system based on WI-FI technology.
Through this project, the technical foundation of tracking applications of great significance to the hospital will be realized. Based on this technology, the tracking applications of various materials and personnel can be realized. This application will be an important part of the hospital’s real-time positioning and tracking system. The application has:

1. Medical waste tracking. Monitor the location and transportation route of the medical garbage truck to ensure that the garbage truck runs on the planned route and in the dedicated channel.
2. Follow-up of emergency patients. Positioning management of emergency patients, real-time tracking of the patient’s location.
3. WI-FI mobile device tracking. Track the positions of EDA and notebooks in working state, so that the positions of the corresponding personnel can be tracked.
4. Valuable equipment tracking. Locate and track valuable mobile devices.

2. Project purpose

The real-time positioning and tracking system project of Beijing Ditan Hospital is mainly based on Ekahau’s WI-FI-based positioning technology to realize the monitoring of relevant hospital personnel (doctors, nurses, etc.), equipment (EDA, notebooks and other equipment) and objects (medical waste). Dynamic and real-time tracking management to achieve the following goals:
1. Standardize the management of medical waste collection, transfer and storage process, strictly control the transportation route of medical waste, accurately record the time of entry and exit of medical waste, and prevent serious consequences caused by errors in the transportation of medical waste;
2. Strengthen the monitoring and management of emergency and critical patients, and provide efficiency in the rescue process;
3. Through the tracking of WI-FI mobile devices, understand the dynamics of the distribution of personnel and improve the efficiency of work scheduling;
4. Prevent the loss of valuable equipment and improve the efficiency of equipment use;

3. Design principles

1. Uniformity: adopt uniform technical standards and uniform system architecture;

4. Scalable: With the gradual deepening of the digital construction of Beijing Ditan Hospital, there will be new application requirements that rely on the real-time positioning and tracking system. Four, system design requirements

1.Application architecture design requirements

2.5. Patient call early warning management

2.6. Garbage truck management

Each garbage truck is equipped with a WI-FI location tag (active tag), which is responsible for identifying the garbage truck, and the system maintains the attribute information of the garbage truck process, including the type and number of the garbage truck, and the number of the responsible person. The system can display the current location of each garbage truck in real time, extract and display the detailed information of the garbage truck from the background database through tags, and make statistics and analysis of the usage of the garbage truck.
