Sirit, a leading RFID technology supplier, recently announced that it has selected the Infinity510UHF reader for Finnish postal services to realize RFID. Readers have been installed throughout the country as a component of the real-time postal speed accuracy monitoring and quantification system.

Finn-Id is Finland’s main supplier of automatic identification solutions and has developed and installed this postal RFID system for Itella’s postal communications department. Itella is a contract service company that manages postal delivery in Finland and across Europe.

This solution uses Sirit’s IN510 reader to read Gen2 RFID tags embedded in envelopes to track the entire delivery process. The selected envelope is unrecognizable by the post office staff and has an RFID tag with a unique number. During the conveying and sorting process, the movement data of these envelopes are collected and transmitted to the back-end system. The back-end system then analyzes the path of these emails, the length of time the letter was sent, and other indicators related to service levels.

Kari Hanninen, Technical Director of Finn-ID, said: “We chose the best reader based on its characteristics and performance. From the perspective of features, Sirit’s IN510 allows us to write an advanced small program in the reader. Here, it is convenient for photoelectric sensor application and data output management. From the performance point of view, IN510 has good reading performance in challenging environments. We also learned through the test program that this is a reader with top performance. “

Tonny Sabetti, Vice President of RF Solutions at Sirit, added: “Finn-ID has done an excellent job of replacing the original solution. The tunnel antenna system can read tags from any direction and has the high reading speed and accuracy required by customers. . We are very pleased that our IN510 can play a good role in this unique real-time tracking and tracing solution.”
