Scientific research projects should be born

Container transportation is an advanced mode of transportation. With the steady and rapid development of the national economy and the accelerating pace of integration into economic globalization, foreign trade continues to grow rapidly, and my country’s container transportation is showing a sustained and rapid growth trend. In the past decade or so, my country’s port container throughput growth rate has been maintained at around 30%, and the nation’s port container throughput has now exceeded 100 million TEUs, ranking first in the world.

With the rapid growth of the container transportation industry, higher requirements are put forward for the safety of container transportation and the efficiency of loading and unloading. Real-time visual tracking of containers and their cargo, convenient information transmission, automated intelligent scheduling, and transportation safety are becoming more and more important. Focus of attention.

The 2006 Western Transportation Construction Technology Project “Container Electronic Label Technology Development and Application” was approved by the Department of Science and Education of the Ministry of Communications under this background and requirements. The project goal is to propose an application model suitable for the development of container electronic tags in my country, formulate unified application standards for container electronic tags, participate in the formulation of national and international container electronic tags related standards, and solve key technical problems in the application of container electronic tags. Demonstration application on the port-Chongqing port route.

The project is led by the Water Transport Research Institute of the Ministry of Communications, and jointly undertakes the research and development of the project with Shanghai Port, Chongqing Port and CIMC Group.

Electronic tags focus on safety

RFID technology is the use of radio frequency to realize the identification of target objects. It has the characteristics of non-contact, relatively high amount of stored data, high reliability, tags that are not easy to break, and can be reused many times. It is very suitable for container transportation. The advanced container transportation industry has realized the computerization of the entire container transportation process. However, during the transportation process, the input of the container number requires manual identification and entry, which seriously affects the high efficiency and accuracy of the computer. The RFID technology can be very effective. Make up for this shortcoming. In the process of container transportation, the application of passive RFID technology as a container electronic tag for application test is a pioneering work in my country and the world. The use of electronic label technology (RFID) to collect information about container transportation and its cargo, and the use of electronic labels in the process of container transportation can greatly improve the efficiency of customs clearance and loading and unloading operations, meet people’s requirements for intelligent management of container transportation, and enhance container cargo transportation The safety, has a good development prospect in the container transportation industry.

At present, container electronic tags in the usual sense include passive container electronic tags and active container electronic tags, which are mainly distinguished by whether the tags contain batteries. Passive container electronic tags have the characteristics of low tag cost, easy maintenance, and wide application. In gates and yards with many tags, it is not easy to misread the tags. It is suitable for large-scale promotion and application in the container transportation industry; The source container electronic tag has the characteristics of convenient application and strong function expansion, which is suitable for special application requirements in the process of container transportation, such as container transportation of dangerous goods, container transportation safety guarantee, etc. The application research of passive container electronic tags focuses more on improving the efficiency of the container transportation process, while the application of active container electronic tags is developing in the direction of container electronic sealing, focusing more on the safety of container transportation.

The “Container Electronic Label Technology Development and Application” project team began to invest in research and development in the second half of 2006. At present, more than half of the project research time has been completed, more than half of the tasks completed, and phased research results have been achieved. Preliminarily completed the research on the application mode of container electronic tags, compiled relevant standards for the application of container electronic tags, completed the research and development of passive electronic tags, conducted research on electronic tag application technology, and completed the installation of the passive electronic tag system in Chongqing Cuntan Port District With the debugging, the docking with the existing professional system has been realized, and the preliminary goal of the expected research and development has been achieved.

Meet the requirements of the port area

At Cuntan Port in Chongqing, the project team designed electronic tags for containers in view of the particularity of container transportation, and installed electronic tags on common terminal machinery such as gates, quay bridges, yard bridges, reach stackers and stackers. Tag reading and writing device. In order to overcome the adverse conditions of the harsh working environment of the wharf, the project team made several targeted improvements to the installation equipment, strengthened the stability of the installation structure of the equipment, strengthened the anti-collision measures of the equipment, and improved the adaptability of the equipment power supply. , Adjusted the interface software. In order to make the R&D equipment and system adapt to the different working conditions and environments of port operations, the project team carried out rigorous and systematic tests, and carried out individual functional tests and anti-interference in gates, storage yards, and shores. Multiple tests such as performance test, reliability test, system joint debugging test and integration test with operating system. At present, Chongqing Cuntan Port can quickly pass the gates of containers with container electronic tags, and realize real-time operation verification during the operation of the port, which brings great convenience to the management and efficient operation of the port.

In November 2007, the project team completed the installation and commissioning of passive container electronic tag reading and writing equipment in the Cuntan port area of Chongqing, built a passive electronic tag application environment in the Cuntan port area, and adapted the relevant equipment to the environment. After the system test of the project team and the discussion of the periodic technical achievement meeting, it is concluded that the main research and development work of the 900M-band passive container electronic label system completed by the project team in the previous stage, the system plan, Technical indicators and performance parameters basically meet the requirements of the application environment in the port area. Based on the research and development of the passive container electronic label system and the experiment of the port area system, it is believed that the system basically meets the use environment and requirements of the port area. The next stage of work can be continued. Experiments on the Shanghai port area and corresponding routes.
