Dolphin joins hands with Aman Aviation to promote RFID technology in the Indian civil aviation market

India’s end-to-end RFID solutions company Dolphin RFID and Indian Aircraft Parts Maintenance and Repair Agency (MRO) Aman Aviation have reached a partnership to jointly promote RFID technology in the Indian civil aviation industry. The two companies said they will promote the RFID technology that Boeing and Airbus are using to help airlines reduce ground time and increase the number of trips, thereby making Indian civil aviation more efficient and safer.
Through cooperation, Aman Aviation will use Dolphin RFID technology to provide tracking and inspection solutions for aircraft equipment and items (oxygen cylinders, first aid kits, doctor bags, oxygen masks, fire extinguishers). RFID technology can help reduce inspection and maintenance time. At the same time, the RFID solution can also track assets and inventory within the entire supply chain to achieve accurate cloud-based management of aircraft parts.
Using Dolphin’s RFID technology, Aman Aviation can help ground maintenance personnel track and trace the tools needed for maintenance.
Dolphin’s solution is implemented through the Java-based middleware Edge Wizard. In the commercial aviation field, RFID tags have been attached to most parts. In the Indian aviation market, these tags are not read. Dolphin will provide readers for Zebra, ATID and Hanmi. The company will also provide an Android application. For the maintenance management program, the company will also use NFC tags. For tool tracking solutions, Dolphin will use Xerafy and Omni-ID tags.
Aman Aviation plans to deploy an RFID solution in the company’s MRO business. The company hopes to introduce available RFID solutions to the Indian aviation industry in the third quarter of this year.
The Indian aviation industry is developing rapidly, and the number of employees is growing rapidly. KPMG predicts that India will become the third largest civil aviation market in 2020. Recently, the Indian government introduced a new civil aviation policy, and airlines with more than 20 flights can launch overseas flights.
