based onActive RFIDPrecyse Technologies, a manufacturer of real-time location systems (RTLS) and supply chain visualization solutions, has announced that international oil and gas companies will continue to install Remote Entity Identification and Control (REAC) using Precyse Technologies in ongoing CO2 recovery projects. system to track more than 1,000 workers in Texas.

The solution supports wireless sensors, machine-to-machine (M2M) control and real-time location of infrastructure from a single reader within 1 mile.

Precyse’s solutions are designed to monitor and track the location of internal and external employee and asset facilities, using patented Assisted GPS (A-GPS) technology and active RFID to identify the location and status of internal and external personnel, facilities, and transition areas complex industrial environment.

The system uses battery-powered security-type devices known as Bridge xPorts (which act as routers) and Micro xBeacons (that send their ID numbers as a reference for the location of individual devices), plus Precyse’s network infrastructure and complex The software can carry out remote identification, positioning, monitoring, personnel convocation and communication in emergency situations and daily operations.

Currently, Precyse has installed the solution at five oil and gas companies. The technology is expected to be deployed at 10 facilities by the end of next month.

Oil and gas companies have approved seven other locations in Texas to install the system, Precyse said.

The facility spans several hundred acres in size and is rated as a Class I, Zone 1 and 2 hazardous area (similar to IECEx and ATEX Zone 0) due to the ever-present threat of flammable gases.

According to Precyse, each site will have four to five Bridge xPorts and an average of 75 xBeacons.

The number of xBeacons, Precyse reports, depends on the size and complexity of a particular plant, for example, the amount of metal present.

In addition to tracking the location and status of employees, the system can also improve operational efficiency by tracking people and valuable assets, such as: worker attendance, location dwell time and time reporting, personnel injury detection.

If a worker falls, the system automatically reports the incident in real time. Automatic alerts and notifications for staff division.

For example, if a worker falls, presses a panic button or enters an unauthorized area, Precyse’s software will automatically display a message to the system user and, if necessary, to emergency responders, control room operators, security personnel and/or Overwatch sends email and text messages.

Precyse also said the system also provides the ability for text notifications to allow control room operators to communicate with workers in the field, further improving remote tracking and visual management of the workforce.

The report notes that the system is proven to help businesses meet OSHA requirements, while historical reports can show specific areas or areas of work for individuals, workgroups (such as electricians) or other categories of workers.
