Overview and Requirements:
Based on the positioning system of RFID technology, parents can leave their children in an indoor playground, and then go shopping with peace of mind; during the shopping process, they can check the children’s movement in the playground at any corner of the mall with a display real-time location.
Kuwait’s MS Retail has installed a new kids’ supermarket, Baroue, that allows parents to monitor the real-time location of their children in the mall’s children’s play area in real time.RFIDGPS. The system is provided by Middle East system integrator TagStone, which inherits Ubisense’s RFID readers, tags, cameras, and Ubisense’s positioning platform software.
Implementation plan:
At the entrance of the sea animal playground, each child will be assigned a toy lion, and the RFID tag is integrated into the toy. The location tag inside this toy lion is Ubisense’s battery-powered UWB (ultra wideband) RFID.positioning label. Parents will also receive a receipt with the unique tag number (ID number) assigned to their child. While the children are playing, the tag will send a stream of very short 6-8GHz signals in real time with the child’s unique ID number; the signal will be picked up by 20 RFID sensors installed around the playground. Then, the ID number and signal strength information will be transmitted to the terminal connected through the intranet.
After obtaining the above information, the Ubisense background positioning platform software will immediately calculate the real-time position of the child with an error of less than 5 cm according to the height and angle of the tag signal and the time arrival difference between each sensor. The system also includes a Ubisense digital camera. When the positioning software calculates the current real-time position of the child in the playground, it will order a similar camera to point to the position according to the calculated coordinates.
When parents go shopping, they can enter the ID number on the receipt on any information screen located in the mall, and the display will show a dot on the floor plan of the playground based on the ID number to indicate their child The child’s current location. Parents can also follow the prompts to choose a video captured by the camera to show their child’s current condition.
