Networking is still hot, and it is the best combination with RS485

The TCP/IP network has been widely used. The TCP/IP communication protocol is used to build a system network through LAN/WAN/Internet to realize remote networking control and data transmission across floors, buildings and cities. For access control systems, it has become a fact.

The advantage of the TCP/IP controller is that it adopts the popular communication protocol of international standard, and the advanced nature and performance are relatively good. Suitable for large-scale systems; stable communication quality and stronger anti-interference ability than RS485. If the user already has a local area network, the existing network can be used for networking. When adding points, you can easily access the existing network system by using the nearest location. Its disadvantage is that in terms of the current market, the cost of its equipment will be significantly higher than that of RS485. If it is a large-scale system across regions, network management and network security will also become new issues and need to be paid attention to. However, as far as large access control systems are concerned, the advantages of the TCP/IP networking method compared to the RS485 networking method are still very obvious: a lot of wiring work is saved, and high-speed communication is helpful for system information exchange, which is beneficial to the entire system. The management of the system is convenient for the debugging and troubleshooting of the system, which makes the system have great flexibility and is very convenient for system expansion.

Most mainstream manufacturers have chosen the way that the master architecture is TCP/IP, the slave architecture is RS485, or this is the best combined architecture. This is based on the following considerations: It is true to say that the TCP/IP network can be expanded infinitely, but a single network access control device is also limited by the distance to the nearest network switch, which is required not to exceed 90 meters. The distance of meters is very short. The advantages of TCP/IP networking are the networking across buildings, regions and subsystems, as well as large-capacity information exchange and applications with high real-time requirements; and RS485 is very suitable for It is most suitable as a supplement to the TCP/IP method for small-scale applications, or for applications that do not transmit too much information.

In addition to the overwhelming network access control, another change that can be seen at the exhibition is the obvious upgrade of the core processor level. For example, in terms of access control controllers, there is almost no traditional 8-bit microcontroller technology, replaced by 32-bit embedded ARM technology, the upgraded product has high performance, low cost and low power consumption. At present, 32-bit machines have also become mainstream. Some controllers crash and restart automatically, line automatic monitoring and dual bus technology are also more popular functions at present.

Multi-system integration linkage technology is becoming more and more mature

Due to the diversity of user application requirements and the continuous improvement of security requirements, the development of the access control market and technology also shows a trend of diversification and integration. The application of access control functions is no longer limited to a single door control, but also needs more To meet market demand, progress and innovation have been made. Therefore, the integration of more and more other systems in the access control system is an inevitable trend of its development.

Access control integration can be expressed in two ways. For example, from the perspective of identity authentication, its integration can lead to “one card”. For example, from the perspective of security, access control can be integrated with other security subsystems to achieve security linkage.

As a “one card”, the current mainstream manufacturers can achieve “one card, one library, one platform”, and can integrate access control, attendance, parking, consumption and other subsystems involving identity authentication under one platform. .

The most used and mature system architecture is that the upper subsystems are definitely TCP/IP, while the lower subsystems can use RS485 or a combination of TCP/IP and RS485.

As a security access control system, it has the following performance. The current trend of integration of access control applications with other security subsystems is unstoppable. The more common integrated security and weak electronic systems include video surveillance, anti-theft alarm, fire alarm, building automation, elevator control and other systems, and the access control subsystem can be integrated with it.
