FleetMind Solutions has developed a new web-based solution for waste disposal and recycling companies that uses RFID technology to automate waste collection.
FleetMind Handhelds and Vehicle Systems
Similar to the Australian application, FleetMind requires each bin to be fitted with an RFID tag corresponding to the customer’s address. By scanning the tags with hand-held readers, waste workers quickly identify cart details and automatically record where and when waste is collected.
In addition, a FleetLink in-vehicle system is also installed on the garbage truck to read and identify the labelled garbage bins being collected, thereby automating the service confirmation process.
The FleetMind system automates maintenance. If a bin needs to be repaired or replaced, employees scan the label and the data is automatically sent to the relevant department to generate a repair order.
