On March 5, 2008, at the H3C “New Wireless, New Network” wireless product and solution conference held in Beijing Wangfu Peninsula Hotel, H3C announced that it has launched the first enterprise-level wireless products and integrated products based on the draft 802.11n standard in China. Unified Mobile Network (UMN) solutions.
Integrated mobile network solution
The enterprise wired and wireless integrated access solution is the most typical application of the wireless controller plus Fit AP. At present, the wireless controller is used in conjunction with the Fit AP. The controller acts as the wireless data control and forwarding center, which is placed in the central computer room of the enterprise and the wireless access point. It can be placed in various indoor and outdoor places of the enterprise (outdoor networking needs to be used in conjunction with the outdoor chassis). The Fit AP and the controller can be on the same network segment or not on the same network segment. The CAPWAP protocol automatically establishes a tunnel (the tunnel is based on UDP and can traverse the three-layer network). Combined with the access function of the Ethernet switch, it is very easy to deploy an enterprise-level wired and wireless integrated access solution. From the perspective of user management, with H3C’s CAMS, iNode and IMC network management, it can achieve a unified network management for wired and wireless devices, and a unified authentication platform for wired and wireless users, thus truly realizing wired and wireless integration.
Overall network diagram of wired and wireless integration
The Fit AP communicates with the controller through the CAPWAP protocol. The Fit AP automatically obtains an IP address through the DHCP server, and automatically binds its IP address to the wireless controller to form an association. The controller can automatically update the software version of the Fit AP. Manage and centrally deliver device configurations, making network management and maintenance extremely convenient. The features of the wired and wireless integrated solution are:
All-in-one hardware
All-in-one hardware by inserting a wireless controller card in a wired switch box
Integrated management
It adopts the same set of device management (iMC) and user management (CAMS) as the wired network, and the management interface is unified
Integrated user access
Adopt the unified endpoint access solution (EAD) with the wired network, so that the security management strategy is unified
As an enterprise-level wireless overall solution, this solution has three major features: integrated hardware, one-piece management and integrated user access. At the same time, it greatly reduces the difficulty of network management and leads the enterprise wireless market. H3C’s integrated mobile network solution has been successfully applied in the construction of large-scale networks such as the National Grand Theater and the No. 3 War Building of the Capital International Airport.

Success Story: National Centre for the Performing Arts
The National Centre for the Performing Arts is a landmark building in the new era of my country. As a modern theatre, the National Centre for the Performing Arts has built a complete intelligent building system and network system. In addition to being used for some weak current systems, its network system also needs to provide Internet interfaces in offices, dressing rooms, command rest rooms, actors’ rest rooms, rehearsal rooms, audio-visual production centers, press conference rooms and other places inside the Grand Theater. The theater’s ticketing system also depends on the network platform, which puts forward very high reliability requirements for the entire network platform.
National Theatre
The Grand Theater has a large-scale building, all of which are finely decorated, and many areas cannot be equipped with wired networks. The underground part of the building is particularly complex, and all of them are made of concrete. The signal of mobile phones and PHS is very poor, which greatly affects the normal communication between the staff of the Grand Theater. At the same time, due to safety considerations, the Grand Theater needs to install cameras in many areas that are inconvenient for wiring. In response to the special needs of the Grand Theater, H3C proposed a wired and wireless integrated thin AP solution of S9500 wireless controller + WA2110 AP. Through the implementation of this solution, multiple services such as Wi-Fi voice, wireless positioning, wireless monitoring, and wireless multimedia playback can be provided on the wireless network at the same time.
In addition, H3C also provides multi-level guarantees for the high reliability requirements of the network. The S9500 wireless controller plug-in card used in this solution inherits all the high reliability features of the S9500 10 Gigabit core switch, and also adds a network reliability design: each AP establishes management with two wireless controllers at the same time. The tunnel is registered to two wireless controllers at the same time. Once the communication between the AP and the active controller is interrupted, it will immediately register to the standby controller. In practical applications, the wireless controller cards on two S9500 switches are set to work in load balancing mode through the command line. Once one card fails, the other card will immediately take over the management of all APs.
In response to the needs of the Grand Theater’s Wi-Fi voice, wireless monitoring, wireless multimedia playback and other services, the H3C solution provides the following features: an access rate of up to 54Mbps, while supporting an access rate of 108Mbps, ensuring the stability and reliability of real-time services; 50ms fast handover ensures that voice and monitoring quality are not affected during roaming; supports WMM (Wi-Fi Multi-Media), which can provide end-to-end QoS to ensure that real-time services are not affected when network bandwidth is insufficient; fully supports group It reduces the number of data duplications and the occupied bandwidth, and provides a good support for multimedia playback.
In view of the complex structure of the Grand Theater, the H3C solution provides advanced WLAN+RFID wireless positioning functions. For mobile terminals such as PC, PDA and Wi-Fi mobile phone, the positioning of the device can be completed through the network without installing a client; for other devices that need positioning, an RFID can be added to complete the positioning of the device. It can be combined with the map for real-time display, and the unit accuracy can reach 2m, which greatly improves the maintenance efficiency of the Grand Theater.

Solution: Capital Airport T3 Terminal
Beijing Capital International Airport is a large-scale international airport with the most important geographical location, the largest scale, the most complete equipment and the busiest transportation and production in China. It is not only the air gateway of Beijing, the capital of China, and the window of foreign exchanges, but also the radiation center of China’s civil aviation network and the most important aviation hub of China’s civil aviation. Terminal T3 is one of the key projects of the Olympic Games. The terminal building has a total construction area of more than 900,000 square meters, is nearly 3 kilometers long and 1.5 kilometers wide. It consists of three parts: T3A, T3B, and T3C. It is the largest single unit in China. Terminal.
Capital Airport T3 Terminal
The airport information system is a vital infrastructure for large airports, from the guidance of seats after the aircraft enters the port, to the passengers getting off the plane and leaving the port, from the passengers entering the port, check-in, waiting, to the whole port of departure. The process, from flight information display to broadcast, from emergency command system to office system, all depend on informatization.
Faced with such a project that requires extremely high equipment quality, H3C uses 6 wireless controllers and more than 300 APs to carry out comprehensive wireless coverage of the T3 terminal, and applies the wireless network to air display, business, departure, and baggage reclaiming. Confirmation, OA, security inspection, field data collection, wireless Internet access for passengers and other systems.
For external network access, information security is the most important. H3C WLAN has accumulated many years of experience, combined with its years of accumulation in the IP field, through EAD (Endpoint Access Defense System) to authenticate and isolate users; through the use of a variety of advanced encryption protocols (including my country’s independent intellectual property WAPI) packets are processed Protection, prevent eavesdropping and tampering by third parties; prevent fraudulent AP from sneaking in through wireless intrusion detection, so as to comprehensively protect the security of WLAN network.

For the reliability design of the network, it is necessary to consider the situation that the network is interrupted if a device fails. If a network outage occurs during the Olympics, it will adversely affect the country’s image. H3C WLAN has network self-healing function, which solves this problem excellently. When an AP fails, the surrounding APs will automatically adjust the power to ensure supplementary coverage of the blind area; when an AC (wireless controller) fails, the dual-controller backup method is used to prevent the entire network from being affected. influence.
