Application of RFID in car wash factory
[ad_1]
Americans are famous for caring for their cars, and long waiting in line at the car wash is undoubtedly tiresome. Now Innovative Control Systems has developed an RFID automatic payment system, which can greatly simplify the car wash process and improve customer satisfaction.
ICS and RCD Technology, an RFID tag manufacturer, designed a low-cost, high-stability RFID tag that can be placed on the windshield of a car that meets the requirements of ICS. This tag is small in size and will not affect the driver’s vision; it also has anti-meteor protection to prevent thieves from removing it from the windshield.
The size of the label is 7 cm * 1.2 cm, and it can be placed on the windshield blocked by the rearview mirror in the cab. If someone attempts to remove the label, the strong adhesive on the label will peel off the antenna of the label from the chip, making the label unreadable. The label is printed with the ICS logo, the unique ID number and the bar code of the ID number to facilitate the reading of the label by the staff of the car wash.
The ICS tag complies with UHF EPC Gen 2 standard and ISO 18000-6C air interface protocol.
This RFID system is a value-added service of the ICS automatic sentry touch screen payment terminal, specifically for customers in the ICS car wash industry.
The ICS RFID system also includes the Alien 9800 reader, which is installed at the entrance of the car wash, near the payment kiosk. ICS also developed a dedicated software for Alien 9800. The software can filter repeated read data and send the tag ID number to the Auto-Sentry software. When the driver stops at the payment booth to pay, the touch screen displays the driver’s name and corresponding welcome message. In the early tests, the reading distance of the tag was 20 feet.
But in a car wash, a reading distance of 20 feet is undoubtedly too long. ICS only requires the reader to read the next car on the car wash, so ICS had to start experiments to reduce the power of the reader and adjust other settings.
Car washes can use this RFID system to increase customer loyalty, or for automatic payment purposes, or a combination of both.
As a tool to increase customer loyalty, the driver can choose the type of car wash, and the system automatically connects it with the ID number of the tag. For payment purposes, the tag can be linked to the driver’s credit or debit card number.
