Since 2002, Yutong Optoelectronics Communication has successively introduced Internet Safety Protection and RFID technology, and cultivated software-hardware system integration technology for increasing communication systems and IP platforms. Therefore, in recent years, it has been active in the fields of optical communication and RF wireless communication in China. In addition, the company has successively developed main products such as communication system integration engineering technology services, information system integration and RFID technology services.

The company’s RFID technology development results have led to a joint hospital in the northern part of the Department of Health and YutongRFIDAfter years of cooperation, the team completed a series of planning, testing and application projects for the hospital’s overall patient safety system under the conditions of phases, division of labor, and mutual cooperation, and achieved cross-industry integration cooperation with effective and limited resource application. A good track record is an achievement that the Yutong RFID team is proud of.

• Background description:

Since 1992-93, hospitals under the Department of Health have generally promoted the integration of community medical information, medical information (telemedicine), and patient safety plans. They have generally strengthened medical information management. Set up various medical inquiry systems in the outpatient hall, and try to implement Pap smear, smoking cessation reminder, test risk value, SARS, infectious disease, emergency and other notification systems in conjunction with HIS, in order to introduce new technologies to enhance patient safety and service quality.

For example, the hospital that cooperated with our company issued the operating room patient identification safety operation standard in December 1992. In order to emphasize the identification of redundancy and the spirit of multiple confirmation (diversity), the operating room nurses are required to Patients pay attention to 20 categories and perform more than 200 check and record items. In fact, it is a very heavy burden for nursing staff who are busy at work, so there is an incentive for improvement.

In addition, although the operating room access control management system of general hospitals is equipped with magnetic cards and passwords, it gradually loses confidentiality due to the use of the passwords over the years, forming a security weakness in access control, and there are often cases of patients or family members breaking in. The need for more rigorous, more convenient and more efficient access control systems.

The company was invited to participate in the hospital’s plan to improve physical fitness and introduce RFID identification technology, and designed an RFID access control system that can control the access to the operating room according to authorization, and designed a patient surgery schedule display system with real-time data update in conjunction with surgery scheduling. , And designed a surgical patient RFID management system between the ward and the operating room to completely improve the safety of medical care for patients in the operating room, so as to improve the quality of medical care, strengthen the procedures of three readings and five pairs, reduce improper access, and reduce the chance of cross-infection. And other effects.

• Implementation results:

The results of the company’s RFID patient safety system development are as follows:

(1) RFID prototype access control management system for operating room

1. Introduction of radio frequency tag RFID access control management mechanism

(1) At the entrance of the operating room on the second floor of the hospital, an ISO 14443 standard radio frequency tag RFID access control identifier was added, which was connected to the nursing station server by RS232.

(2) Operating room personnel management roster proposed by the operating room nursing unit and related departments, establish a configuration profile for access management, and control the roster of personnel by the operating room nursing station, and incorporate the related roster into the initial management database of the information room through the hospital network .

(3) Use the number reading mode of the radio frequency tag RFID access control management identifier to create user management reports, entry and exit records, and illegal entry and exit records.

2. Establish procedures for operating room access control

(1) First, the information room will make RFID employee identification cards, and issue relevant departments, according to the roster of personnel, issue and use.

(2) The information room will hold training and announce the actual implementation time of the new operating room access control management measures, and allow relevant personnel to adapt to it.

(3) Actually implement access control management and record management information.

(2) RFID surgical patient progress display system

1. Feasibility review of the introduction of radio frequency tag RFID surgical patient process management mechanism

(1) Begin testing the RFID patient bracelet (ISO15693) in the orthopedics ward and access the RFID data to the orthopedic ward nursing station via WLAN, and then transmit it to the nursing station in the operating room via the TCP/IP path, which proved to be very stable.

(2) The reading rate of ISO 15693 is higher than 99.2%, and there is no problem of misreading.

(3) When using PDA as a tool for RFID to read data, it has the advantages of large flexibility, easy portability, and transmission of other data, but it also has the disadvantage of easy loss.

(4) Using the mechanism of synchronizing the RFID reader of each patient’s identification check point with the server of the nursing station in the operating room, the operation patient progress display system is activated to prompt the real-time patient status, which is a feasible and very stable management mechanism.

2. Establish a patient progress display system and management program in the operating room

(1) Use the server of the nursing station in the operating room to manage the patient progress display system in the operating room, and install a management system based on the SQL database.

(2) A 32″ large-screen LCD patient progress monitor is installed outside the nursing station in the operating room, and connected to the server with a VGA cable.

(3) Extract HIS scheduling data from the operating room patient scheduling system or enter the scheduling data in each ward to the operating room nursing station. The operating room nursing station creates a daily operating room patient progress display database.

(4) Before the system starts to use the RFID patient bracelet (ISO15693), the data on the patient progress monitor in the operating room will be updated by the nurse in real time.

(5) When the system starts to use the RFID patient bracelet (ISO15693), the data displayed on the patient progress is automatically updated in real time due to the synchronization of the RFID reader at the patient identification checkpoint.

• Establishment of patient safety management system in operating room:

1. Feasibility analysis

Perform feasibility analysis of inserting RFID in surgical procedures of orthopedic surgery patients, introduce handheld (ISO 15693) RFID identifier, 13.56 MHz patient bracelet, read and write distance of 2 cm to 5 cm, access RFID data with PDA and WLAN , Use TCP/IP to transmit RFID data, and use WEP encryption to ensure the confidentiality of RFID data.

2. Simulation test

After completing the 100-hour preliminary test of the simulation system, the system is still stable and can be used to perform RFID surgical patient safety management.

3. System planning

RFID identification technology is introduced when the patient is hospitalized, RFID wristband (loop) is configured, and handheld RFID scanners are installed in the ward, outpatient waiting room, OR console, surgery room, etc., to achieve multiple pairs of patients. Security identification purpose.

4. System Test

The use of RFID to complete patient safety identification still depends on the full cooperation of nurses, anesthesiologists and physicians in order to be effective. In the process of its introduction, Yutong Optoelectronics did not directly participate in the test due to the sensitivity of the work in the hospital operating room. Provide technical consultation during the execution of the plan, and suggest that the institute should pay attention to issues such as: site survey, scenario analysis, system design, trial and evaluation, formal construction, experience feedback, etc., to grasp the achievement of design goals.

  3. Suggestions:

The company has a holistic view on the issue of patient safety in general general hospitals, and hopes to promote cooperation issues with related general hospitals, and propose cooperation agreements for the following goals to truly promote and strengthen patients in domestic hospitals at all levels Safe, comfortable and high-quality intelligent service quality.
