With the deployment of the National Health Service (NHS) in other parts of the UK, Hertfordshire in the northeast of the UK will adopt an RFID system to realize the NHS trust.RFIDThe system is provided by 6PM Holdings Plc., a British company that provides IT products and services.
6PM’s Intelligent Document and Inventory Tracking (IFIT) system uses RFID to help hospitals manage physical paper medical records, hospital supplies, medical equipment, hospital assets, patients, porters, personnel, and more.
The IFIT solution consists of 6 PM’s CareSolutions software-used to manage data in files, such as the patient’s name and date of birth, and FileTrail software-reads the data in the CareSolutions system through RFID, and consists of two parts.
Many hospitals use FileTrail’s EPC Gen 2 ultra-high frequency (UHF) passive RFID tags for file management and use Motorola MC3190-Z handheld readers to read these tags.

According to the 6PM report, the RFID tags used in the iFIT solution deployed in Hertfordshire in the northeast of the United Kingdom were specifically designed by 6PM for the French NHS Trust.
6PM pointed out that iFIT is very suitable for health record environmental applications. Within 10-14 months of use in other trusts, the average return on investment has been significantly increased by simplifying the labor-intensive logistics process.
Once the product was purchased, IFIT facilitated streamlining its business processes at a very low cost, the company explained.
In May 2014, the IFIT project began to be deployed at the NHS Trust in Hertfordshire and is expected to be completed by the end of this month.
