Critical Alert Systems, a provider of nurse call solutions for hospitals and medical systems, announced the deployment of nurse call solutions in 4 hospitals of Genesis Medical System to improve its HCAHPS score, medical staff productivity and operational efficiency. The nurse call solution integrates the previously installed AeroScout RTLS platform of Stanley Medical.
Genesis Medical System provides services to the Qued City area of Iowa and Illinois. It has 6 hospitals, 35 Genesis medical facilities, 15 rehabilitation clinics and multiple service centers. Since 2008, the medical group has begun to use AeroScout RTLS to improve hospital operations.
By using Critical Alert’s asset management and AeroScout platform employee workflow solutions, Genesis Medical System can obtain automatic data collection, analysis, location reporting, warnings and patient requirements. Stanley Medical’s RTLS technology uses WiFi networks to provide real-time location of patients, caregivers and equipment. The AeroScout RTLS solution uses battery-powered RFID tags to transmit unique ID numbers via WiFi.
Some important advantages of the Genesis medical system include a function that automatically cancels the call alert when the nurse enters the patient’s room with appropriate credentials, eliminating the need to manually press a button at the staff site; it can provide patient medical records, nursing staff mobility and Visibility of clinical workflow; detailed report on the effect of proactively addressing patient needs. The company claims that the system also allows nurses to focus more on patient care instead of countless gadgets, thereby providing better services. The workflow dashboard of Critical Alert integrates the information of different systems and equipment, and displays it on a unified console, providing reports and analysis of clinical medical staff bed information, and compliance information of departments and facilities. The company claims that this can improve doctor-patient communication, reduce the impact of medical incidents, and create a more powerful workflow report and optimization.
