A few days ago, the newly-built Ashdod Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel, plans to implement an active RFID system to monitor and track medical equipment, medical staff, and people who are seriously ill.
This system is supplied by Wavetrend Technologies, headquartered in Salisbury, UK, as an active 433 MHz RFID solution. Israeli system integrator Ardan Control Technology Co., Ltd. supervises the project and will deploy open-designed asset tracking software to improve further integration with other hospital applications. In addition, RFID interrogators will be installed in six medical buildings throughout the hospital. According to Wavetrend, the system used in this medical center can provide real-time tracking information, help the medical center quickly find key equipment and personnel in an emergency, and monitor the whereabouts of high-risk patients in real time, so that medical staff can quickly increase their alertness. . Medical staff can obtain required information from any computer based on pre-authorization in the center.
