Taiwan’s Kaohsiung Port Authority will conduct a radio frequency (RFID) electronic seal escort demonstration system test in early July to replace the current manual escort operations, shorten the customs clearance time and reduce the operating cost of the carrier.
ShouldThe port pointed out that the technical planning team of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, led by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, will soon complete the construction of the “RFID Electronic Seal Escort Demonstration System”. It is scheduled to start testing in early July. The automated gate control system in use is combined with the operation. At present, there are about 20,000 automated gates vehicles passing through each day. The vehicle control function of the gates at the inspection station has been greatly improved and the congestion of vehicles has been reduced. The “RFID electronic seal system” will be added. After operation, the vehicle can be driven at a high speed, achieving a high reading rate of over 97% and high stability, which can avoid the current waste of human resources caused by manual escort, shorten the customs clearance time, and reduce the operating cost of the carrier. It is expected to become the world’s first use of the “RFID electronic seal system” to replace manual escort operations, which will help enhance the image of Kaohsiung Port as an international port.
