Singapore Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital adopts RFID system to ensure correct pairing of mother and baby

Singapore Thomson Medical Center uses a new RFID tag system to ensure the correct pairing of mothers and babies during their stay in the hospital at all times.
When the mother and baby are sent to the maternity ward, the medical staff will wear pre-matched tags for them respectively.
If the tags match, the mother’s tag will flash green and a piece of music will be played. If it does not match, a red light will flash and an alarm will sound to remind the mother’s medical staff.
The child’s parents can also use a button on the mother’s label at any time to ensure that the child is not holding the wrong one at all times.
Thomson Medical Center is the first obstetrics and gynecology hospital in Singapore to use a labeling system, which allows parents to verify that the mother and baby are correctly paired at any time. The baby’s label also has a skin detection function, and an alarm will be automatically issued when the label is loose or dropped.
