Application of Active RFID in Long-distance Bus Attendance System
[ad_1]
challenges and needs
The bus attendance system is a real-time, accurate and efficient system established by organically applying advanced communication technology, data processing technology, network technology, automatic control technology, and information release technology to the management of bus parking lots (transportation hubs). The comprehensive management and control system of public transport vehicles can improve the traffic operation environment, improve the quality of traffic services, and improve people’s living standards by improving the transportation infrastructure and improving the level of traffic information services.
RFID (Radio Frequency Identification, Radio Frequency Identification) technology was originally used as a technology for the identification of enemy and friendly aircraft during World War II. . In the field of transportation, RFID technology has also achieved remarkable application results in bus cards, non-stop charging, parking lot management, vehicle type and flow information collection, and expressway vehicle speed calculation. According to the source of power supply of the tag, RFID can be simply divided into two types: active and passive. Passive tags themselves do not contain batteries, and the required working energy comes from the radio frequency excitation of the reader, so the working distance is short and the work is stable. The distance is generally less than 10 meters, and the reading range that is too far is often achieved by increasing the transmission power of the reader, and increasing the power is at the expense of damaging the internal components of the reader. Therefore, in applications that require a reader distance of more than ten meters, active RFID is often used.
Unicom is the leading supplier of active RFID technology and products in China. The quality and excellent performance of the products have been widely recognized and praised in the industry, and have been verified in nearly 1,000 projects in the past five years since the company was established. At the same time, the company’s deep technical foundation and strong project team also ensure that all projects can be successfully implemented.
application solution
The system adopts the world’s leading microwave frequency long-distance radio frequency identification technology, and an active proximity card pre-registered in the system is installed on each vehicle. The active proximity card will continuously emit microwave signals. When the remote reader installed near the entrance and exit receives the proximity card signal, the remote reader sends the card signal to the host computer through the 485 (or Wiegand) interface. At present, the information management of buses mainly has two goals:
1. Bus entry and exit identification
The goal of this application is to collect the entry and exit time of buses, and serve for bus scheduling and information automation applications. The following are schematic diagrams of two more typical application modes:
Mode 1. Single-channel access control: the width of the channel is generally 5-15 meters, and the reading distance is preferably limited to less than 20 meters. If necessary, there is no need to stop. The speed of the vehicle should be controlled below 60 km/h. -TGS-300/301, if the anti-tamper function is required (the system will automatically distinguish the label once it is illegally removed), you can also choose the tamper-proof label. Install it on the inside of the windshield of the car or in a suitable place inside the car. The SP-RFS-300 reader is fixed beside the aisle or suspended at an appropriate position at the top of the aisle with a stainless steel column. During installation, it can be adjusted to the best height and angle from the ground according to the actual situation on site. The system deployment is shown in the following figure:
In actual use, various situations may be encountered at the scene, especially the vehicle enters a certain reading area by mistake, or just passes through here instead of entering the parking lot, or the parking position of some vehicles is close to the reading area. There may be a lot of information error problems. To solve such problems, we generally deploy two readers inside and outside a channel, and two readers read the tag ID number one after another, and make a logical judgment. Of course, there may be some more complex situations on site, which require careful investigation and investigation on site before a corresponding solution can be made.
Mode 2, dual-channel access control: the total width of the channel is generally 6-20 meters, one in and one out, and the card reading distance is limited to less than 20 meters. If necessary, there is no need to stop, and the vehicle speed should be controlled below 60 km/h. Proximity card select SP-TGS-300/301, if you need anti-tamper function (if the label is illegally removed, the system will automatically distinguish), you can also choose tamper-proof label. Install it behind the windshield of the car or in a suitable place inside the car. The SP-RFS-300 reader is fixed beside the aisle or suspended at an appropriate position at the top of the aisle with a stainless steel column. During installation, it can be adjusted to the best height and angle from the ground according to the actual situation on site. The system deployment is shown in the following figure:
In actual use, it is necessary to carefully adjust the recognition range and angle of the reader, so as to accurately identify the driving direction of the vehicle. The complex application situation in the field is handled with the application mode 1.
2. Collection of bus stop information
Another goal of a bus attendance system is to determine whether it is parked at the appropriate location as specified. This goal is relatively easy to achieve. Generally, readers are set up in the docking area for large-scale signal acquisition. The communication distance between Unicom’s reader and the tag can be up to 80 meters, and the signal coverage of the parking area can be easily achieved.
Program Features
Long distance: The reading distance is up to 80 meters, and can be adjusted according to actual needs.
Stable operation: The active card has a stable reading distance and is not easily affected by the surrounding environment. Moreover, the active card can effectively break through the shielding effect of the automobile explosion-proof metal mesh and exchange data with the reader smoothly.
It supports high-speed mobile reading, and the mobile speed of the identification card can reach 200 kilometers per hour.
High reliability, it can operate normally within the ambient temperature of -30℃-85℃, especially in the low temperature in the north and the high temperature in the south, and it can effectively resist dust and pollutants in the air.
High anti-interference: There are no special requirements for various interference sources on site, and the installation is convenient and simple.
Ultra-low power consumption: long service life, low average cost, and safe and healthier for human body, no radiation damage.
