HID Global, a global leader in security identification solutions, announced that its VertX® and iCLASS® products have been selected for the Beijing Subway Fangshan Line. HID Global designed a two-level management and three-level control distributed network structure for Fangshan Line, which can centrally monitor the operation status of each station, manage access control authorization and maintain system data, and at the same time, each station can independently control the regular access control management within its jurisdiction. Improve the operation and management level of Beijing Subway.

The rail transit system has long lines, many stations, and few management personnel. In order to ensure the normal and safe operation of the urban rail system, unauthorized personnel must be effectively prevented from entering the restricted area, and central monitoring of access doors and equipment management rooms in the station equipment management area is also required. and management to ensure the safety of equipment and personnel. The HID Global access control solution adopts master-slave two-level management. The central-level access control management station is set in the depot control center, which mainly monitors the operation status, authorization management and system data maintenance of station-level equipment. The station-level access control management station is set up in the control room of each station, and its function is mainly to monitor the status of the access control equipment of the station. In this way, each station can be managed centrally, and the management process from top to bottom can be realized.

On the basis of central monitoring, each station also needs to be able to independently manage and control the access control system within its jurisdiction. HID Global’s three-level control structure came into being. The architecture is divided into PC remote control, access control master controller control of each station, and local controller control. PC remote control can be used in some high-security places, and the personnel in the management center will manually release after confirmation, and restrict personnel access; the main controller control is suitable for routine access control management; the local controller cannot be connected with the local controller. When the main controller communicates, emergency management is performed on the managed access control equipment. Under this structure, even if the internal communication network fails, each station can effectively access the access control function within the jurisdiction, and after the communication is restored, all event information will be uploaded to the central management station to achieve real-time data transmission.

Since most of the access control systems of rail transit are installed and used in complex environments such as outdoor and underground, the requirements for the equipment’s fire resistance, flame retardancy and anti-electromagnetic interference are very strict. HID Global’s VertX® access control controller provides more than 1 million hours of mean time between failures, and the product has weather resistance measures such as waterproofing, which can adapt to the underground wet working environment, and the product shell is UL94 certified Safe material, fire-resistant and flame-retardant. In addition, iCLASS ®R10 card reader provides users with a lifetime warranty after-sales commitment, helping users solve the problem of equipment maintenance.

Zhao Jianbang, Marketing Director of HID Global China, said: “The future development of China’s rail transit is promising. Based on the successful experience of Beijing Subway, HID Global hopes to further provide customers with first-class access control system solutions to boost the development of the rail transit market in first-tier and emerging cities.”
