Bombardier Transportation adopts TagMaster’s RFID solution for bulk transportation project in Malaysia

TagMaster, a railway RFID solutions provider, announced that it has received an order from Bombardier Transport to bring its advancedRFIDSolutions (including heavy duty 2.45 GHz readers and active RFID tags) were applied in a project in Malaysia.

Bombardier will first order the company’s 3.5 million SEK ($526,000) high-performanceReader, will be delivered in late 2013 to early 2014.

The order also includes TagMaster’s HD ID-Tag tags, as well as some accessories, and is expected to be delivered in 2014.

TagMaster’s equipment will be deployed as part of Bombardier’s mass transit train control solution on the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (KVMRT) Sungai Buloh to Kajang (SBK) line in Kuala Lumpur.

Once the line is complete, the 51-kilometre (31.7-mile) SBK line will significantly increase traveler capacity in the Greater Kuala Lumpur area, with the company reporting that around 1.2 million people will benefit from the project.

Bombardier’s responsibilities include the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the communications network-based Bombardier Cityflo 650 Train Control (CBTC) automated driverless operating system solution.

The line includes 31 platforms and 58 airborne equipment, as well as 16 maintenance vehicles. (Compiled by RFID World Network)
