Colorado Springs, owned by Great Wolf Lodge Water Park Resort (GWRI) in Colorado, began to use wristbands provided by PDC.
The water park covers an area of 79,000 square meters and opened at the end of January 2017. It is equipped with 13 water slides, a four-story “Tree House Water Castle” and many other attractions and facilities.
GWRI is a water park chain company located in Madison, operating 13 Great Wolf Lodge resorts in total. Jennifer Scinto, PDC’s marketing communications assistant, said that Colorado Springs is the 11th Great Wolf Lodge water park that uses PDC RFID wristbands. Since 2005, PDC has started to cooperate with Great Wolf Lodge.

Each guest of the resort will receive a PDC Smart Superband 470 waterproof plastic wristband after checking in. The wristband contains a securely sealed chip, bound with an alphanumeric code. Access or purchase permissions are assigned within the code. When the reader reads the chip, the information will be transferred to the reader. These codes are unique and are automatically deleted after the visitor leaves, thus eliminating the possibility of duplication.
The PDC Smart Superband 470 has a 13.56 MHz passive RFID inlay. The inlay has a variety of chip options: TI Tag-it HF-I and NXP ICODE SLIX that comply with ISO 15693-3 standards, as well as Mifare Ultralight, Mifare 1K, Mifare Mini and Mifare Ultralight C.

Great Wolf House also deployed RFIDeas’ PC Prox card reader. Among them, 50 are installed in the front desk, restaurant and retail sales terminal, so that guests can easily buy food, gifts, spa treatments, etc.
According to PDC, the wristband not only enables fast cashless transactions, but also has advantages over traditional magnetic cards. Dirt and debris can affect the performance of the magnetic card, but this is not a problem for the wristband. In addition, the wristband can be worn on the wrist, and its loss probability is also lower than that of a card.
