Project Background
According to Shell’s unified Beijing area requirements, the 46 storage tanks in the first and third stage tank farms have no liquid level display and alarm system, and personnel frequently go up and down the storage tanks during oil unloading, oil dumping, and daily inventory operations. There is a high HSSE risk at the same time There are also differences in manual inventory data. By installing a liquid level display and alarm system, the frequency of personnel getting on and off the storage tank is reduced, the accuracy of inventory measurement is improved, and the standardized management of the tank area is realized.

In this storage tank liquid level detection design project, it is necessary to consider connecting 46 network nodes, and to sample data and alarm control for each node in real time; these storage tank network nodes are concentrated in three different areas, and the single area is within 1,000 square meters. , there are dozens of nodes at most, and the straight-line distance between different areas is about 500 meters. Each area is set up with an information summary alarm control station, and the network has one more important requirement: each network node has data stability and work reliability. have higher requirements.
According to the above requirements of the project, taking into account the design cost, production cost, reliability, maintainability and other factors, we consider using the “equipment network – information network” approach to build the entire network.
In a single area, the equipment network is constructed by CAN-bus network, which has low overall cost, meets the requirements of safety and reliability, and is reliable in application and easy to maintain; all network nodes in a single area are aggregated into one information aggregation station, and then divided into areas It communicates with the server through the CAN-bus network, and the server will be connected to the enterprise local area network, so that the information monitoring and alarm system can be accessed from any position within the enterprise network.
