[ad_1]
We have reported on many smart door lock projects. Through low-power bluetooth communication, the identity of the owner can be confirmed, and the inductive unlocking can be completed without taking out the key. But the problem is that the cost of home door lock transformation is very high, and taking out the mobile phone and opening the app and then sensing it may not be more convenient than the key, and it feels a bit like taking off your pants and farting.
But this is not to say that the smart door lock is tasteless. It has a killer function that can authorize others to unlock the lock, which saves the physical medium of exchanging keys, and can also set the validity period, which will automatically expire after expiration. risk is much easier. So for those places where the door lock needs to be changed frequently, the smart door lock is an excellent choice, such as hotels.
At last year’s Asia Communication Show, we reported on the Hami wallet launched by Taiwan Chunghwa Telecom, which can be accessed through NFC Communication to obtain the authorization of the door lock of the partner hotel, so that you can enter the room without Check in. Now another hotel chain giant, StarWood, has also started using smart door locks and plans to roll it out quickly.
Starwood Group’s hotel brands can be described as rich, well-known including Westin (Westin), Sheraton (Sheraton), Four Points (Four Points), Le Meridien (Le Meridien), W Hotels (W Hotels), Aloft ( Aloft), and Element (Element), etc., they are now ready to use smart door locks in more than 10 hotels in New York, Los Angeles, Beijing, Hong Kong, Doha and other places, the brand covers Aloft Beijing, and W hotels in other places.
The way to use the smart door lock is very simple, register on the mobile app Starwood, set up to allow push notifications, 24 hours before check-in, it will guide you to use the keyless check-in procedure, when you can check in, it will notify you, Then you bypass the front desk to open the app directly with your mobile phone, touch the door lock, and the green light turns on and it’s OK. The phone needs to support Bluetooth Low Energy, as well as the latest system.
Its advantage is that it saves the time of queuing for Check in, and there is no need to carry a room card, and after the identity information is electronically bound, it is also convenient to use coupons and membership cards, which is equivalent to a user management system.
Starwood plans to roll out this experience on a large scale next year, using it on Element, Aloft, and W hotels, and it is expected to be rolled out to more than 140 hotels early next year.
