[ad_1]
Foxwoods Resort Casino, one of the world’s top gambling and entertainment venues, has made a new move. Who said IT is gray? The gambling industry can also play with high technology, make IT colorful, and play with eyeballs!
Recently, it is reported that Foxwoods will apply high-frequency RFID technology innovation to the gaming table.
Foxwoods, located in southeastern Connecticut, USA, will open a new casino (MGM Grand) in May 2008, and will use high-frequency RFID tag technology to track casino chips in real time; by then, within 2 years, there will be 250 poker tables deployed RFID devices. At present, Foxwoods has purchased one million smart chips with built-in 13.56 MHz RFID chip from GPIC (Gaming Partners International), a gambling equipment manufacturer, and will use the RFID chip management system and cards jointly provided by PGIC (Progressive Gaming International) and Magellan Technology. The table ID identification system realizes the tracking and management of chips.
The system uses the PJM independent phase modulation protocol, follows the ISO 18000-3 standard, and can control three major modules: table management, chip management and dealer management.
