Application of Qindao Tongka in ETC Toll Collection of Jiaozhou Bay Subsea Tunnel

The Jiaozhou Bay Subsea Tunnel is the longest subsea tunnel in my country. A total of 22 two-way toll lanes are set up, including 4 ETC toll lanes, 18 MTC toll lanes, and 22 toll lanes all support Qindaotong card payment. The ETC lane is aimed at users who have installed the Qindaotong OBU and have a Qindaotong card. The user only needs to insert the Qindaotong card into the OBU, and the ETC electronic system automatically completes the deduction operation through the ETC lane. The MTC channel conducts manual toll operations for vehicles without OBU. Through the MTC channel, vehicle users can either pay in cash or use the Qindao Tong card to pay. Therefore, ETC users can also use the MTC channel, just take the Qindao Tong card from the OBU and pay to the toll gate operator.

The system plan is divided into 4 levels, namely payment method, payment channel (ETC/MTC), toll station secondary clearing management system, ESAM (OBU) secondary issuance management system.
Issuing type
In addition to supporting the 1.8 million Qindaotong ordinary cards that have been issued so far, Qindaotongka Company has issued tunnel stored-value cards for the Jiaozhou Bay Subsea Tunnel. The stored-value cards adopt the method of “consumption first, settlement later”.
Equipment type
In terms of vehicle electronic tag selection, Qindaotong chose a two-piece electronic tag that is energy-saving, environmentally friendly, high-performance and cost-effective. The product has a non-contact IC card read-write interface, a sensitivity adjustable design, anti-dismantling startup and judgment technology, “solar + spare lithium battery” dual-mode power supply management, and long label life. The dual-antenna design is selected for the roadside unit, which effectively guarantees the traffic rate.
Application highlights of this case
The dual-chip vehicle-mounted electronic tag is used in combination with the non-contact CPU card. Qindaotong independently issues the Qindaotong stored-value card and the vehicle-mounted electronic tag key system to independently carry out the secondary issuance of the vehicle-mounted electronic tag.
