The global uniform code identification system will be used for Olympic food safety traceability
At present, the safety status of various foods such as tea, vegetables and fruits, beef products and grains from farmland to table in China has been piloted to join the global unified code identification traceability system.
Yesterday, members of the International Article Numbering Association arrived in Beijing to hold an annual meeting. As one of the members, the China Article Numbering Association demonstrated the development status of China’s food safety traceability system to the representatives of the countries. At present, some local government departments, such as Beijing and Shanghai, are cooperating with industry associations. In the field of classified food, they are piloting the use of the GSI global unified identification system with commodity barcodes, article codes and radio frequency identification technology as the core to carry out food safety traceability work. Establish a full traceability system from “farmland to table”.
At present, the China Article Coding Center has signed a cooperation agreement with the Beijing Food Safety Supervision and Coordination Office, and the globally unified coding identification system will be applied to the safety traceability of Olympic food.
