Project Background

In order to increase the market share of its products and enable consumers to eat meat with confidence, Beijing Jinwei Furen Halal Food Co., Ltd. has established a beef product tracking and tracing system based on the application of the EAN·UCC system, which has achieved good results.

The following is a brief introduction to the company’s beef product tracking and tracing system.

The goal of system construction

(1) When the cattle are in the breeding farm, comprehensive records of the epidemic prevention, feeding, disease treatment and other information of a single cattle shall be carried out;

(2) Record the cattle quarantine, slaughter information, and cattle ear markings at the slaughterhouse;

(3) When cattle are slaughtered, they will be associated with the basic information of the registered cattle through barcode identification;

(4) When the cattle carcass is segmented, the ear tag number of the cattle entering the segmentation line is determined by scanning the bar code identification. At this time, a new barcode identification (for information traceability) is generated in batches and is associated with the basic information of the cattle;

(5) Paste the bar code for beef product traceability on the beef product packaging after segmentation;

(6) Information is released via the Internet.

System design and scheme

1. Principles

(1) Choose an automatic identification technology suitable for the actual production situation of the enterprise;

(2) The operability of the system should adapt to the status quo of the production equipment and personnel of the enterprise;

(3) The production line of the enterprise should be able to make appropriate adjustments according to the requirements of the system establishment, and the adjustment range should not be too large;

2. System coding scheme

The traceability code for this beef tenderloin should be (01) 96934871510044 (251) 100000000, see Figure 4. Among them, (01) is the application identifier, indicating that the data behind is the global trade item code (GTIN), and (251) is the application identifier, indicating that the data behind is the bull’s ear label.dataThe meaning of 96934871510044: 9 means the product is a variable product, 69348715 is the manufacturer code, 1004 is the product code, and 4 is the check code.
