HRD Antwerp commissioned Scanology to automate the process of data collection and management reporting in the HRD diamond identification laboratory. This solution realizes all-round tracking of all diamonds in the diamond laboratory and improves operational efficiency. Scanology chose Magellan PJM RFID data collection solution to run on Scanology’s software platform.
PJM stands for the next generation of radio frequency identification, which complies with the ISO 18000 international standard Part 3 Mode 2.

The PJM Stacktag concept provides diamond dealers with immediate and substantial value, enabling their own employees to quickly and frequently pick up goods. Nothing goes wrong.”
Scanology has developed a complete set of middleware to connect PJM readers and several local HRD platforms, providing a full range of solutions for 100% identification, counting, picking and process control, suitable for rapid installation in various HRD operations . The kit works smoothly on multiple platforms with no speed loss. The project achieved automatic tracking of 100% of the diamonds that passed the identification system, tracking in time, and the cost was within budget.
The project leaders are Mr. Stephaan van Echelpoel, the production supervisor of the HRD Antwerp Diamond Laboratory, and Mr. Jos Giesen, the Senior Account Manager of Scanology BV. The installation of RFID and IT is supervised by Mr. Benny Jacobs, director of the ICT Antwerp World Diamond Center.
