Application of RFID in modern container management of recycling companies

The Schultz Recycling Company collects scrap metal from various factories in nearly 10,000 containers in 200 locations. In order to optimize the container management system, a German company with a dominant position in the steel and metal recycling industry decided to upgrade its internal data information system and introduce radio frequency identification technology for container tags. Scrap metals from other industrial manufacturers in more than 200 locations are collected, processed further, and sold to steel plants.
RFID-based container tracking can simplify the current work process and report the location of the container to the management at any time. Old-style existing systems waste time, and Smart-TEC can make detailed inferences. It developed and manufactured special labels for the Munich-based Recy System AG project and provided company software including old-style container handling procedures for Scholz Recycling Company.
