Art Channel Galleries, a direct selling company focusing on the art and sports memorabilia market, announced that it will use RFID technology to prevent counterfeiting of its products. The company purchased a set of RFID software and hardware, and plans to integrate RFID tracking and anti-counterfeiting software into the enterprise’s EPR system.

Art Channel Galleries’ RFID solutions include RFID tags on the company’s limited edition art reproductions, sporting goods or celebrity memorabilia. The label contains the source and certification information of the item, and provides a URL to the company’s software system. The software will track and maintain all data, product source information, creators and property owners.

Art Channel Galleries believes that the anti-counterfeiting function of RFID will increase the company’s share of the global 120 billion collectibles market and become one of the highlights of the company’s direct sales operations.
