Martela is an office equipment and service provider that uses RFID technology to track the installation of its assets and customers’ office equipment.
Martela has greatly improved the speed and accuracy of client device inventory by installing an RFID system. This RFID system was developed by Confidex’s partner, system integrator Vilant Systems. The operation of the system is based on the installation of Confidex RFID tags on every office equipment at each client site.
Confidex Steelwave Micro is used to identify each office space. The label stores office location information, and associates the corresponding office equipment with its location in the database. Office equipment identified with tags can be effectively remotely read by a handheld reader. The application of the RFID system can reduce the human error in the inventory and greatly speed up the inventory process.
Generally speaking, employees will make minor moves when they move into the office, move furniture, and change their indoor layout. This will make previous inventory records obsolete. Through the new RFID system, the furniture and equipment of a newly furnished room can be re-read and registered within ten seconds. With real-time and accurate inventory records, Martela can improve the efficiency of office equipment management, plan modification, office relocation and upgrade planning. Customers can also receive accurate furniture information for accounting purposes.
