RFID technology for jewelry tracking
[ad_1]
This case outlines an RFID system developed by Argos in cooperation with product suppliers and integrators. The entire process of jewellery or other valuable items from the central distribution point to each retail store is tracked and tracked. The reverse is also true, that is, product tracking during transportation from the retail point to the warehouse.
Data carrier
Passive RFID tags are installed on 1,000 reusable plastic shipping boxes, and the shipping boxes are monitored from the delivery center to the store.
Install active tags on 50 metal roll cages for tracking the transportation process between Caslevard and Haywood, and install the products used for testing in the metal roll cages, and keep them on them until they arrive in the Republic of Ireland. Follow it up.
Data communication
IEEE 802.11 wireless network in Caslevard and Haywood
Transmit remote data to the database of the server in the central control room in Denmark via GSM
Manage Oracle database in Denmark
Although CASTRAK only occupies a relatively small part of Argos’ supply chain distribution work, this project is very valuable because it is a demonstration basis for Argos’ future application of RFID technology on a larger scale. More and more people now understand that a simple, flexible and real-time supply chain information management solution can improve the accuracy, reliability and real-time information of each link in the supply chain. Argos has also slowly learned the benefits and potential value of RFID technology, and these benefits are beyond the reach of other technologies. Argos gave a fair answer to this. Not only is it praised how good RFID technology is, but the application of the system really helps a lot.
