In 2012, Shengfeier built a large-scale parts distribution center for Daimler Northeast Asia Parts Trading Service Co., Ltd. in Chengdu, which is mainly responsible for the supply of auto parts in the southwest region. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler Northeast Asia Investment Co., Ltd., its service areas cover almost all models on the market in China, including Mercedes-Benz brand cars, commercial vehicles and vans, Maybach brands, and Passenger cars of the smart brand.
Daimler requires warehouses to be divided into different areas to store goods of different sizes and types, including 2 warehouses for storing large cargo boxes and 2 picking areas for auto parts. One of the picking areas for high-value parts requires fences and Security door protection. The wide range of SMF products meets these needs: SMF has provided Daimler with 3 types of shelves, including light-duty racking systems (LS600), live button pallet racking and cantilever racking systems, as well as Energy-saving induction lamp, steel fence and security door.
The auto parts picking area uses a light shelf system with a total of 27,064 shelf positions. The products are divided into three categories: large, medium, and small, and are stored separately. According to the size of the products stored, Shengfei designs different layer heights and compartments of different sizes, and provides parts boxes of various capacities. For high-value product areas, fences and safety gates have also been set up. The LS600 series is an economical choice for storing lighter products. If the demand increases, customers can increase the storage capacity in the vertical direction, and it also provides a variety of choices of laminates and accessories.
It is worth mentioning that all light shelves are equipped with energy-saving sensor lights. When the pickers walk to the corresponding picking position, the sensor lights above the aisle are turned on immediately according to the pickers’ walking path. This design greatly reduces the power consumption of the warehouse, which saves costs and is environmentally friendly and efficient.
In addition, in the auto parts picking area, S. Ferrier also designed cantilever shelves for storing long strips of auto parts.
The two warehouses for storing large containers use Shengfei’s live button pallet racking warehouse (I600), with a total of 1,301 pallet spaces. The design of I600 can basically meet any pallet specification or weight, and can be used with all types of forklifts. The racking system is the most widely used and most economical pallet racking system, 100% safe and adjustable, and can make full use of the precious space area.
The shelves installed by Shengfei have effectively solved Daimler’s storage requirements for auto parts, and ensured the safety of goods during the storage process, as well as the effective storage and selection of goods. It is reported that the production of SMF’s products adopts advanced German technology, strictly abides by international industry standards, and has obtained the shelf structure design principle EN15512 2009, the tolerance, deformation and clearance standard of pallet racking system EN15620 2008, the Australian steel storage rack standard AS 4084, Europe Mechanical Handling Association standards FEM 10.02.07, FEM 10.02.08 and ISO 9001 and other international authoritative certifications.
