SMARTRAC implements the Philippines National RFID Vehicle Management Project

RFID device manufacturer and supplier SMARTRAC won an RFID vehicle tracking project in the Philippines.
Through the implementation of long-distance passive RFID tags, the project is expected to increase traffic volume, help enforce traffic laws, and improve vehicle safety. SMARTRAC has supplied RFID windshield tags to Free2move Scientific, and Scientific has provided law enforcement officers with handheld readers, outdoor road fixed RFID readers, and accessories needed to install RFID tags on non-windshield vehicles (such as motorcycles and trailers).
The vandal-proof passive windshield tags provided by SMARTRAC have several safety features to ensure that only authorized readers of the Philippine Transportation and Police Department can obtain vehicle data.
This project is the world’s first nationwide application of RFID technology for traffic management.
