At present, the number of electric vehicles in the mining area is about 12,000. With the popularization of electric vehicles, the theft problem will follow. In 2007, there were 227 electric vehicle thefts in the Caihe area, and 220 in 2008. Based on 1,500 yuan per vehicle, the total amount of electric vehicle thefts in the past two years has reached more than 670,000 yuan.
The police investigation found that the frequent occurrence of electric vehicle theft cases is that the electric vehicle locks are not high in technology and easy to be smashed. The parking hardware facilities such as the community are not matched. This is also related to the residents’ lack of awareness of prevention.
Therefore, starting from March 1 this year, the Caihe Police Station has officially launched a pilot project in Cuiliu New Village of Jielian Community. Three exits have been installed with smart alarm equipment. More than 120 of the 250 electric vehicles in the community have been equipped with smart anti-theft for free. According to Guo Fei, director of the Jielian Community’s Public Security, there are 20 to 30 electric vehicles stolen every year in Cuiliu New Village, but this has only happened once this year, and it still happened before the anti-theft system was installed.
It is reported that the scope of the intelligent anti-theft system in the next stage will be expanded to vehicle management, bulk property management, and important personnel management. Starting today, the system will be gradually deployed in the Shangjiaoyuan, Xizhao Community, Jingyi Community and Jiangting Community in Caihe Street.
