Yike Q80U series UHF RFID read-write head successfully solves the problem of AGV trolley positioning
[ad_1]
The AGV trolley is a transport vehicle equipped with automatic guidance devices that can travel along a prescribed guidance path, with safety protection and various transfer functions. Due to the advantages of high degree of automation, simple operation, and easy layout, AGV trolleys are increasingly used in production links such as material transportation in the factory, which greatly improves the automation and intelligence level of the enterprise.
During operation, positioning and monitoring are important technical means for information interaction and sharing between AGV trolleys and MES systems. Early AGV trolleys used magnetic sensors to detect the N-pole and S-pole of the magnetic stripe placed on the running track, thereby judging AGV acceleration, deceleration, turning, stop and other instructions. The solution of the magnetic sensor has certain advantages in cost, but it is more complicated to set the command through the combination of N pole and S pole, which must be completed by professional and technical personnel, and it is inconvenient in later maintenance. As the application of RFID technology becomes more and more widespread, the position recognition solution using RFID tags + RFID readers has been gradually introduced into the AGV industry.

Recently, Yike’s UHF RFID solution successfully solved the problem of a certain brand of AGV manufacturer in the positioning of AGV trolleys. After joint debugging by R&D personnel, the improved AGV car has been successfully applied to a certain auto parts production base.
In this successful case, the product that Ike selected for the customer is the Q80U series of UHF read-write heads.
product model
Salient features
· Fast reading and writing speed, especially suitable for dynamic reading;
· Using RS485 interface, it can directly communicate with the vehicle-mounted small PLC;
· The code carrier adopts the slim E5213 series with a thickness of only 2mm, which is suitable for hidden installation under the tracking magnetic strip of the AGV, without affecting the re-passing of the car.
Principle of operation
· RFID code carriers are arranged under the tracking magnetic strips before key positions such as turning and commutation, and are arranged at certain intervals in the straight-line running direction;
· The electrical engineer writes a 4-byte position coordinate code in the RFID code carrier placed under the tracking magnetic strip in advance, which represents the positioning information of the position;
· Program the vehicle-mounted PLC to control the RFID read-write head to complete the continuous reading of the tag command with an interval of 20ms. When the AGV trolley runs to the position calibrated by the code carrier, the read-write head automatically reads the position information;
· PLC automatically compares the code carrier information of two different positions to judge the running coordinates and running direction of the trolley, and decelerate in advance at positions such as corners and commutation;
· During the operation of the AGV trolley, the real-time position information is wirelessly transmitted to the remote dispatching control system, and the real-time position is displayed through the billboard.
Application feedback
From the customer’s application feedback, the application of Yike Q80U series UHF RFID read-write heads on AGV trolleys has the following obvious advantages:
· Convenient coding: one RFID code carrier can support 4294967295 kinds of codes at most, and the codes can be repeated and modified at any time;
· Data is not easy to lose: the internal code of the label can be stored for 10 years;
· Strong environmental adaptability: not easily affected by oil, dust and other environmental impacts;
· Wide operating temperature range: acceptable operating temperature range -20℃-85℃;
· Adjustable sensing distance: it can be adjusted between 50mm-300mm to adapt to different AGV heights from the ground;
· Fast response speed and reliable reading: The command data can be reliably read when the AGV trolley is running at a speed of 2m/s.
IKE UHF RFID technology has successfully solved the positioning problem of AGV trolleys, making AGV transportation faster and more accurate, saving a lot of manpower and time costs for the company, and greatly improving the production efficiency and intelligence level of the company.
