Malaysia Sunway Amusement Park uses RFID wristbands to manage visitors and consumption
In Sunway Lagoon, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, there are five theme parks: water park, surf beach, adventure park, western cowboy town and elephant park. Tourists can surf on the simulated beach, explore the safari park and follow imitations. The version of “African Falls” slides down. However, because these activities may make the wallet soaked or lost, the attraction is equipped with waterproof RFID wristbands for tourists to make convenient payment for the consumption of products and services.

Hong Kong’s RFID system integration and payment and security application biological solution provider RCG developed and installed a smart payment system with RFID technology for the attraction at the beginning of this year.
Water Recreation Project
When tourists enter the Sunway ticket hall, they can choose the ticket level according to their preference. For example, a family group may choose to visit the wild park, or the wild park and water theme park only, or choose to visit all the attractions of the resort. Each visitor issues a wristband with a built-in high-frequency RFID tag (note: manufactured by NXP, implementing the ISO 14443 standard). RCG uses data encryption technology to prevent the tag ID number of the wristband from being illegally read.

The code entered for the tag is an ID number, and the number is also stored in the central database. Associated with that identifier in the database is a list of attractions that tourists pay to play. When a visitor enters an attraction, the visitor holds a wristband a few inches from the reader installed on the special entrance revolving door, the reader sends the tag ID number to the central database, and if the visitor is approved to enter, the revolving door opens .
Each visitor can choose to set up a prepaid account linked to a personal wristband ID number. According to this feature, tourists can buy food or other items, and rent surfboards or other equipment by showing their wristbands to the card readers installed at different sales locations and connected to payment terminals. According to this feature, visitors do not need to bring cash or credit cards into tourist attractions, nor do they need to distribute cash to children.
The tourist attraction has millions of tourists every year, and it is hoped that the application of this system can reduce the number of waiting tourists at various entrances and sales locations. Also, this system will reduce the amount of cash that sellers have on hand for change. Sunway Lagoon can also use the data collected from the cuff system to analyze the purchase habits of buyers and the time and quantity of transactions executed, in order to achieve the goal of improving hiring staff and services.
All ISO 14443 RFID readers installed in the park are connected by optical fiber to a local area network connected to a central server running RCG-developed software that manages the issuance, payment and ticketing database of wristbands.
