Tagsys America Inc. and West Pharmaceutical Services Inc. cooperated to propose a special technology to manufacturers to resist the increasing number of counterfeit and inferior products in the blood injection drug industry. West Spectra’s new technology was presented at the annual meeting of the American Parenteral Drug Association (PDA). Because of its advantages such as convenient use, easy tracking, and hidden location, the use of this technology can ensure the authenticity and reliability of medicines.

John Jordon, President of Tagsys USA, said: “The significant impact of this technology in ensuring the therapeutic effects of drugs is really exciting. Our ability to produce tens of billions of units of drugs is fully in line with Six Sigma’s label and recognition capabilities. Reading rate requirements are also in line with our strategic plan to enhance the safety of pharmaceutical products worldwide.”

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has proposed a public or non-public controversial approach to protecting drug safety. West Spectra technology has applied pop ink and 13.56MHz project-level RFID technology to anti-jamming easy-pull seals. Thanks to the West Spetra technology, manufacturers will not affect the anti-counterfeiting measures even if they change the packaging of their products from time to time. This public technology includes high-resolution and full-color graphics, which is conducive to quickly identifying and distinguishing products. With sophisticated inks, rapid pop identification of the outer packaging of medicines can be carried out at any link in the supply chain.

In close cooperation with West, Tagsys will provide a complete set of integrated services such as RFID tags, related hardware, and required data. By using RFID technology in easy-pull seals, West Spectra technology provides us with a set of high-density, simultaneous reading and writing, and non-line-of-sight-certified seal packaging technology. The electronically stored data can be identified immediately, ensuring the safety and manageability of the detailed list in the tracking system.

In order to ensure a stable supply of goods to the global market, West’s companies in the United States and Europe will be responsible for the production of seals using WestSpectra technology.
