A few days ago, SIMpass, a non-contact mobile payment application, was successfully installed and the first purchase was made in the flavor restaurant “An An Jia” located in the Wangjing Mong Kok Commercial Center. Customers do not need to use cash or credit cards, just swipe the card reader with a mobile phone equipped with a SIMpass card to pay.

SIMpass is a brand-new mobile payment solution based on dual-interface SIM card technology, which can implement various non-contact mobile applications and is compatible with various existing payment facilities. The technology was launched by Watchdata, one of the world’s top five smart card suppliers.

The dual-interface SIM card, which is the carrier of the SIMpass solution, is also called the SIMpass card, with two communication interfaces, contact and non-contact. The contactless interface can support contactless mobile payment, electronic passbook, PBOC debit/credit and various non-telecom applications. The contact interface can realize telecommunications applications and complete the normal functions of the mobile phone card. The terminal installed in Ananjia this time is the CRW-X contactless card reader independently developed by Watchdata, which has passed Windows Vista certification, with fast reading speed, stable performance, strong expandability and good compatibility.

Previously, within Watchdata, SIMpass has been used for a long time in terms of access control, payment transactions (company restaurants), and attendance, and then completed the first commercial trial within Hunan Mobile. SIMpass’s outstanding performance in the field of micropayments has been highly praised by many users and testers. After technical optimization and improvement, this time it was officially put into commercial use in restaurants, marking that Watchdata SIMpass has reached a new level in terms of technical stability and ease of use. SIMpass contactless mobile applications have begun to become a part of people’s lives.
