Guangdong Sanshui will establish two service platforms for the beverage industry, a public inspection center for the government to purchase services, and a radio frequency identification information platform. The quality and safety of Guangdong Sanshui’s beverages can be traced with only one chip.
Guangdong Sanshui has attracted many well-known beverage companies, such as Budweiser Beer and Coca-Cola, to settle in recent years by relying on the high-quality water source of the Xijiang River. In the context of increasing attention to food safety, Sanshui District has decided to establish an industry public platform to serve the development of the beverage industry. Guangdong Sanshui District Economic Promotion Bureau revealed that the public service platform to be established includes a public testing center for the beverage industry and a radio frequency identification product quality and safety information service platform.
The former is being approved by the Provincial Department of Science and Technology and will be implemented after approval.
The testing center will be funded by the government to purchase public services, issue “service coupons” to beverage companies, and the Institute of Microbiology and Technology Center will provide quality testing of raw materials and products. The latter uses radio frequency identification technology (RFID) to implant “chips” in each batch and link of beverage production to track the quality and safety of each process from raw materials to finished products, forming a national beverage product quality traceability system.
