The reporter was informed on January 19, 2006 that from midnight on January 20, Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway will switch to a full-line networked toll system for one day, laying the foundation for the implementation of the “All-in-One Card” on expressways in Sichuan Province.
According to the person in charge of Sichuan Chengyu Expressway Co., Ltd., in accordance with the unified deployment of the province’s expressway network toll collection, Chengyu Expressway will switch to the entire network toll system at 0:00 tomorrow. For vehicles on the Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway in the past, the switching work will not have any impact. With the implementation of the networked toll system, Sichuan expressways are expected to implement a “all-in-one card”, that is, drivers will receive the card when entering the expressway and pay when they exit the expressway. At present, drivers still need to pay separately for each expressway. For example, from Chengdu to Yibin, they need to pay twice on the Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway and Neiyi Expressway. According to the relevant documents of the Provincial Transportation Department and the Price Bureau, the toll stations of the Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway will implement the new toll standards from the date of network toll collection.
