The necessity of implementing fingerprint IC card membership card:

At present, the membership card management of most member clubs is still relatively backward. Most of them use plastic cards to print the member’s name, photo and other information. Manual comparison is used to determine whether to allow entry to the designated place. The advantage is that the direct cost is low, but it also has insurmountable advantages. Shortcomings. E.g:

◇ It is easy to forge, copy, and release by favor, which will cause serious loss of due income.
◇ It has a single function, is troublesome to use, and requires a lot of labor costs for verification, which is irregular and unfair.
◇ There is not much collection and storage value.
◇ It is difficult to form effective computer statistics and management.

Fingerprint IC card membership card works as follows:

1. The design, production (initialized to become a valid membership card), and use of the membership card are all controlled by the certificate center through the computer, so as to prevent the loss of due income and prevent false images.
2. When a member applies for a membership card for the first time, the fingerprint of the member will be collected and stored on the IC card, and personal photos and other information can also be printed.
3. Before members enter the designated place, ask them to insert their membership cards and input their personal fingerprints on the fingerprint IC card control gate.

Overall system design:

1. Requirements for membership card

The main problems to be solved by the fingerprint IC card membership card are:

1. Members can enter the relevant places with a membership card in hand. The entrance of each place can be exempted from inspection and release, and for some special places, the membership card can also be checked and released again.
2. To achieve the “integration of people and cards”, that is to say, it is necessary to ensure that each membership card can and can only be used by one person to protect the interests of both members and the club.
3. Anti-counterfeiting, to ensure that the membership card cannot be copied and forged.
4. Reliable performance, simple operation and easy use. The reliability mentioned here mainly refers to the reliability of the fingerprint identification technology of the membership card and the convenience for the members to use, and must not cause inconvenience to the members.

2. Overall plan

According to the requirements of the “one-card system” for membership cards, and in accordance with the policy of using engineered and proven technologies to build the club membership card system, we recommend:

1. IC card is used as the carrier of membership card to solve the problem of “one card system” and anti-counterfeiting.
2. Biometric technology—fingerprint technology to solve the problem of “integration of people and cards”, only biometric technology can solve the problem of “integration of people and cards”, each member’s fingerprint is stored in his own IC card, and the fingerprint With the card, fingerprint collection and identification are convenient and accurate.
3. The gate channel is used to solve the automatic access control of members.

3. Fingerprint Identification

The development of fingerprint identification technology benefits from the research results of large-scale integrated circuit manufacturing technology and fast and reliable identification algorithms. Fingerprints have three nice properties:

Deterministic: The structure of each fingerprint remains unchanged for life;
Uniqueness: The probability of two identical fingerprints appearing is very small, no more than one in 60 billion;
Classifiability: It can be classified according to many features of fingerprints.

Although fingerprints are only a small part of human skin, the amount of data used for identification is quite large. Comparing these data is not a simple problem of equality or inequality, but requires a lot of calculations to obtain features and perform fuzzy matching. . Large-scale integrated circuit manufacturing technology enables us to manufacture relatively small fingerprint image acquisition devices, and the rapid development of CPU computing speed has created the possibility of fingerprint recognition operations on microcomputers and even single-board computers. In particular, the reliability of fingerprint feature extraction algorithm and fuzzy matching algorithm can ensure high enough recognition accuracy, and fingerprint recognition technology has been very practical. Its main performance indicators can reach the following levels:

1.Acquisition time: <1 second; Identification time: <1 second
2.A single fingerprint template is about 800 bytes
3.performance
(1) Allow finger rotation: 30 degrees;
(2) Allow finger deviation: 5mm;
(3) Average misrecognition rate: 0.001%

Fourth, the specific use of fingerprint technology in this system

According to the experience of long-term work, the number of people who are not suitable for ten fingerprints will not exceed 0.001%, that is, the rejection rate of fingerprints is less than 0.01%.

However, there are very few people whose fingerprints are very smooth or have spots caused by peeling due to occupation (exposure to chemicals, etc.) and peeling of their fingers, which cannot be used for identification; At this time, the ID number and password of the member can be used as a supplementary option. Of course, other biometric technologies can also be considered as a supplement to fingerprint recognition, but the necessity and feasibility of using other biometric technologies should be measured by the performance/price ratio. degree.

Therefore, we recommend registering fingerprints when a member registers for the first time. Only when the machine judges that all the fingerprints of the member are not suitable, it will collect his password.

You may ask what to do if your finger is injured? To this end, two fingerprints can be registered during registration. As long as the two fingers are not injured at the same time, they can pass the inspection normally when passing through the gate.

5. Anti-counterfeiting and meeting speed requirements

Anti-counterfeiting and anti-cheating requirements are an important reason for replacing ordinary plastic membership cards with card-type membership cards.

5.1 Security measures of IC card

Anti-counterfeiting

In addition to the protection of the membership card IC card provided by the system, the logic encryption IC card we choose has a series of security protection measures:

Unique card number. Each card is initialized by the membership card management department before issuing the card to form a unique card number, which is read-only (cannot be modified).

1. The password can only be detected 4 times. The password of each card is generated by the card number through the key + encryption algorithm. If outsiders try to detect the card password more than 4 times, the card will never be used.
2. The contents of the system area are unknown to outsiders. Some units (such as 32 bytes) of the IC card can be designed to be non-rewriteable, and they are used as the system area. The content of the system area is garbled according to the card password according to the key + encryption algorithm, which cannot be copied by others at all. Confirmed by the certificate management department.
3. The check value is unknown to outsiders. The integrity check of the information in the card is realized by the “check value” in the information area, and the key and encryption algorithm to form the “check value” are also determined by the membership card management department.

As can be seen from Figure 2.1, the security protection measures of membership card, the core data located in the innermost layer is protected by three layers of card password, system area, and verification value. The basis of the three layers of protection is selected by the membership card management department The key, algorithm and the card number formed by the membership card management department.

Anti-cheating

In addition to the strict handover of the sending and receiving of membership cards (because the card is money), it is necessary to ensure that one cannot be lost.
From a technical point of view, since the key is controlled by the senior personnel of the membership card management and can be changed at any time, it has a good anti-cheating effect.

Anti-interference ability

IC card has good electrical and anti-interference performance, the data in the card can be rewritten up to 100,000 times, and the data storage time can be more than 10 years.

5.2 Meeting speed requirements

The fingerprint comparison when passing through the gate only takes less than 1 second, and the average time for members to pass through the gate will be less than 3 seconds.
