China, Beijing, March 16, 2016-HIDGlobal, a global leader in secure identification solutions, today announced that the Valais Foundation for the Intellectually Disabled (FOVAHM) and the Martini Boutique Hotel in Valais have deployed its RAINUHFRFID technology. The company’s technology was used to help create a set of easy-to-use solutions to help people with intellectual disabilities complete their work smoothly in a commercial laundry environment. The new solution provides a safe and efficient way to allow laundering staff to work under limited supervision while maintaining the highest level of service quality required by the hotel industry.
The Martini Boutique Hotel was created by FOVAHM and is currently managed by FOVAHM. In cooperation with HygieClean Ltd., the foundation designed a system that not only meets the washing standards of hotel services, but also solves the memory and perception challenges faced by the staff of the hotel’s “LaRomaine” laundry facilities. HygieClean Ltd. chose to cooperate with HIDGlobal in order to take advantage of the latter’s RFID expertise, high-quality manufacturing process, and robust LinTag UHF transponder technology. This technology can be easily applied to washing items, and can withstand repeated washing (up to 300 times), drying and ironing.
“Compared with competing products, HIDGlobal’s LinTagUHF transponder is small in size and convenient to use. This is the main reason we chose it,” said Hervé Bargibant, CEO of HygieClean Ltd.. “In addition, HIDGlobal has an international company culture and French-speaking engineers, which can make the design and deployment response faster and communication more convenient.”
Currently, LinTag UHF transponders have been successfully embedded in the bedding, napkins, towels and clothing of the hotel FOVAHM guests. In addition, the above-mentioned labels are also integrated in the production process of standard hotel washing products, so that newly produced washing products can be immediately put into use in the “LaRomaine” washing facility. Each item of laundry with a label has a unique identification, including the owner’s name, the type and color of the laundry, and the specific treatment of the laundry or bedding, in order to achieve precise inventory control and treatment of the laundry And delivery.
“Being part of the FOVAHM organization is a real honor. And now we are witnessing the commercial benefits of using RFID technology,” said Bertrand Gross, the director of Martini Boutique Hotel. “Accurate management of the life cycle and inventory of laundry products can help us save valuable resources and allow our managers to focus on providing excellent hotel services to guests.”
Through HIDGlobal’s UHF tags, conveyor belts equipped with RFID functions, sorting and weighing systems, and management software, error-free sorting of hundreds of laundry items can be completed in a few seconds, saving hours of processing every day time. In addition, due to the adoption of the above-mentioned system, the “LaRomaine” washing facility has now expanded its washing business to include not only the washing products of the hotel, but also the washing business of many other FOVAHM locations. At present, the washing facility team can handle more than 990 pounds (450 kg) of washing products per day, and the future washing capacity will reach 1.2 tons per day.
“HIDGlobal is very pleased to contribute to this professional and efficient system, open up new job opportunities for FOVAHM members, and help expand the laundry business of the Martini boutique hotel,” said Richard Aufreiter, director of product management at HIDGlobal. “By using our innovative RFID design and excellent manufacturing capabilities to meet the unique needs of FOHVAM, it proves that the use of innovative technology can not only optimize the process, but also inspire the enthusiasm of employees.”
FOVAHM’s Daniel Zufferey added, “The staff in the laundry department feels very happy working in the hotel and are proud of their ability to use innovative technologies in their daily lives.”
