Decathlon Shahe Store was opened by Decathlon in Shenzhen in 2008, and it was its largest concept store in China at that time. After investigation, it is found that Decathlon products still mainly use barcode paper labels, and some shoes and clothes still have EAS hard labels. The first to discover the use of RFID tags was outdoor hiking socks, and then reporters successively discovered RFID tags on tents, coats, rackets, fishing rods, shoes, balls and other commodities.

The reporter conducted statistics on the spot and found that more than 40 products in 9 sports, including outdoor, badminton, table tennis, tennis, fishing, fitness, track and field, yoga, diving, etc., have already applied RFID tags. The use of RFID tags on Decathlon products does not impose any requirements on the price of the products, and there are applications for products ranging from thousands of dollars to several dollars. The cheapest item is mountain animal golf, which sells for only 9 yuan. The reporter inferred that Decathlon’s products use RFID tags mainly for newly listed products, and the products that have already been put on the shelves using barcode labels, Decathlon did not specifically replace and update them.
