Leading EMS (Electronic Information System) service provider NBS announced the installation and use of an intelligent feeder and equipment management system that utilizes RFID functions, covering the company’s Santa Clara manufacturing base in California.

This is a highly intelligent traceability device that allows NBS to electronically track, supervise, match and record the components that enter the printed circuit board assembly line in real time, eliminating the manual login method (although very limited) that competitors still use.

This time, NBS’s intelligent system is based on Juki’s IFS-X2 intelligent feeding system and the use of contactless RFID technology, which can make the feeding device intelligent both inside and outside the assembly system. The system includes an offline feeding trolley and a storage box, so that the feeding device and related parts have visibility and precise equipment management functions. In this way, the management level of the highly automated dedicated production facilities built by the company in June 2008 has been improved.

NBS President and CEO Michael Maslana said: “The consequences of an error in mass production can easily exceed the original production cost and even cause serious legal disputes. Our new system can provide comprehensive closed-loop tracking of all logistics and production processes. Ensure error-free production and 100% traceability.”

IFS-X2 supports all material tracking of various processes in the printed circuit board assembly system. Various materials such as circuit boards, electronic devices, solders, and fluxes are tracked from the beginning of the billing, and tracked until the printed circuit board assembly is completed. The content includes the position of various electronic devices on the printed circuit board, printing, assembly, inspection, welding, etc. All data are stored in the database to facilitate tracking and generate retrospective reports to ensure comprehensive and transparent process verification and error analysis.

Maslana continued: “The addition of RFID technical functions just shows that NBS has made another exploration in response to the ever-changing EMS service industry. We are very pleased to announce the adoption of new innovative functional systems and look forward to receiving enthusiastic responses from customers. At the same time, we also look forward to medical treatment. Industry, aviation, and military enterprises can quickly respond to approve the use of the new system. The new system also has good application prospects in other commodity production processes.”

NBS’s predecessor was a printed circuit board design company established in 1999. Since entering the EMS service industry in 2004, due to the implementation of a unique business model, that is, to always provide customers with the most advanced services, its annual performance has increased significantly. The company’s customer base is large in number and wide in scope, involving customers from different regions and industries in the fields of design, manufacturing, testing, and verification.
