AIM Global, the global association of automatic identification and mobile manufacturers, recently released new guidelines for tire RFID chip design. This guide was compiled by the RFID Expert Working Group (REG), hoping to help the industry develop new RFID technologies for tires.

Electronic tags are increasingly used for tire tracking

The new guide can be used as a reference book to help manufacturers and customers understand the design, labeling and application of tire RFID tags. There are many different forms of tire labeling. For example, the RFID tag can be embedded in the patch and permanently attached to the outside or inside of the tire; in addition, the RFID tag can also be directly embedded in the tire during the production stage.

Tire labeling can better track the safety of commercial vehicle tires and realize vehicle positioning. Now that there is more and more demand for RFID tire tracking in the market, AIM Global hopes that the new guidelines can promote the application of tire RFID.
