Carpet company uses UHF sealed locks for tracking
[ad_1]
Cybra, an RFID solution provider, has developed a set of seal locks with embedded UHF RFID tags. The tags comply with the EPC Gen 2 standard and are mainly used to track and identify a product or container with anti-counterfeiting function. Initially, the main customer of the solution was a carpet trading company in New Jersey; currently, the application of the solution has been expanded, not only for tracking and positioning of goods, but also for judging whether the container has been opened based on the state of the lock.
Initially, carpet companies used RFID tags to track information about the production and value of carpets. However, RFID tags are easily removed or replaced, and the guarantee effect is not good. In order to solve the above problems, Cybra has developed a special RFID seal lock.
Alien’s Higgs-3 passive UHF RFID chip is used in Lock & EnCode seal lock
Most of the high-end carpets of this carpet trade company are handmade and are of high value. In order to ensure their quality and master the arrival time of the goods in detail, advanced technology must be used to solve this problem. With the RFID solution in place, RFID seal locks are installed on every carpet sold. The size of the lock is 3.8cm*3.8cm, embedded with Alien Higgs-3 RFID chip. When a customer purchases a carpet, he locks the RFID seal lock, and stores the printed serial number of the seal lock and the carpet information in the EdgeMagic RFID control system of the Cybra backend.
A Motorola FX9500 reader, including a Motorola AN400 antenna, is installed at the entrance of the warehouse to read the unique code of the Lock & EnCode RFID seal lock, and at the same time update the database to show that the goods have arrived. When customers buy carpets, Motorola MC3090-Z handheld readers are used to locate the goods in the warehouse. Before the carpet is shipped, the label will be read again and then shipped to the retail store. The sales process of carpets must go through the VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) system. Company employees manage inventory and store sales using handheld RFID readers to locate carpets and display detailed information. Before putting the carpet back into the warehouse, it must be read again by the RFID reader so that the system can update the inventory record.
With the RFID solution in place, the time for employees to locate the carpet has been greatly shortened, and work efficiency has been greatly improved. For retailers, Lock & EnCode is not only used to block a product, but also to block recyclable containers. For example, a box containing medicines.
Lock & EnCode seal lock has many end users. The lock is currently available in two different versions: the client, such as the commercial carpet, Cybra embeds RFID tags in advance to meet the needs of specific users; and the other is an uncoded lock. Cybra is expanding this program to the tobacco industry. The installation and use of the lock not only ensure the safety of the goods, but also greatly save labor time and improve labor efficiency. The reading distance of the lock can reach up to 5.8 meters.
