The system includes EPC Gen 2 attached to the garment tag UHFRFID tags, HHU-500 handheld reader from Tagsys, SRU-400 POS reader, SPU-500 EAS terminal and data software e-connectware.

In order to improve the visibility of the supply chain and prevent the theft, the Faconnable brand is considering the use of RFID technology. Currently, the RFID system is in the testing phase and is expected to be implemented in all stores in March 2013. The program was initially installed in several stores and two distribution centers in Los Angeles and Spain. A year later, the system was also installed in another distribution center in France.

Before the clothing leaves the factory, a tag with an embedded RFID tag is prepared, and then it is packaged and shipped to the distribution center. The distribution center is equipped with a UHF channel reader provided by Tagsys to read RIFD tag data. Before the garment is shipped out of the distribution center, the label data must be read a second time. The read tag data is uploaded to the back-end service system through the wired network, and the status information of the clothing in the e-connectware database is updated at the same time.

When the clothing arrives at the retail store, the staff uses a handheld RFID reader to read the tag data. When the garment is sold, the POS terminal reader reads the sale event and associates it with the product code. In this way, the company can update product record information at any time and automatically update inventory data. Moreover, with this system, there is no need to scan clothing barcodes, and the customer payment process is easier and faster.

In addition, the store installed a Tagsys SPU-500 EAS system on the ceiling. The SPU-500 terminal includes an RFID reader. When theft occurs, the system sends out an alarm. (Edited and compiled by RFID World Net)
