California technology company InvoTech recently announced that it will install a GIMS U-HF RFID uniform tracking and inventory management system for The Statler Hotel, which is compatible with the automated U-Pick-It uniform distribution system. The Statler Hotel is the internship base provided by Cornell University for the students of the School of Hotel Management. The U-Pick-It system automatically assigns uniforms to employees with RFID cards.
InvoTech’s GIMS solution uses EPC Gen2 passive RFID tags provided by Fujitsu Frontech to track and manage hotel sheets, uniforms, etc. It also includes Impinj’s Speedway Revolution readers, Motorola AN720 and AN480 antennas. White Conveyors, the provider of InvoTech and U-Pick-It systems, has integrated the two systems of Niagara Falls Casino Resort in August 2011 (see RFID Uniform Sorting System Entering Fallsview Casino Resort http://www.rfidinfo.com.cn/Info/n20990_1.html).
The implementation of the system in the Statler Hotel will provide students with practical opportunities to experience RFID technology in person and broaden students’ innovative ideas. For hotels, it will improve management efficiency while reducing labor costs. The system was implemented by InvoTech in January 2012.
Cornell University (Cornell University) is a private research university located in Ithaca, New York, and is one of the eight Ivy League schools. Cornell University’s School of Hotel Management is second to none in the United States. For training and learning, Cornell set up its own hotel. Cornell’s School of Hotel Management has also been praised as “the best college in the world” by Conrad Hilton, the founder of Hilton Hotels.
